Dr Chris Kwan is a General and Stroke Neurologist with a strong foundation in General Medicine, offering a meticulous and patient-centred approach to neurological care. His clinical practice includes stroke, epilepsy, vertigo, headache and chronic pain, as well as the use of therapeutic Botox for targeted neurological management. Chris is known for his careful clinical investigation and thoughtful diagnostic approach, combining evidence-based medicine with personalised care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Chris completed his neurology training at Royal North Shore and St George Hospitals, followed by Stroke Fellowships at Prince of Wales Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital. Through his experience across major tertiary centres, he has developed particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of stroke and complex neurological conditions. His approach focuses on accurate diagnosis, clear communication and practical treatment strategies that support improved quality of life for patients.

His commitment to neurology extends beyond clinical practice. Chris is currently completing a PhD at the University of New South Wales, supported by an NHMRC scholarship, investigating the role of AI-based radiomics in neuroimaging to improve hyperacute stroke care in telestroke systems. He also serves as a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales, where he is involved in teaching and mentoring medical students. Chris remains actively engaged with the broader neurology community and is a member of several professional organisations, including the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), the Australia and New Zealand Stroke Organisation (ANZSO), the Neuromuscular Society of Australia and New Zealand (NMSANZ), the Movement Disorders Society of Australia and New Zealand (MDSANZ), and the Epilepsy Society of Australia.
